Red Rock Nature Center

Who are we?

We are a group of people who are dedicated to teaching others about the natural systems in this harsh desert environment. Through classroom education and guided hikes, we aim to teach both the young and old that the desert has a lot more to offer than just sand!

What Lives in the Desert?

There are all kinds of animals that have adapted to survive the harsh sun in this environment.

  • Greater Roadrunner
  • Turkey Vulture
  • Joshua Trees
  • Black-tailed Jackrabbit
  • Coyote
  • Common Saltbushes (Tumbleweed)

What We Do

Guided Hikes

On our guided hikes you will be led by one of our experts. You will learn about how the desert ecosystem works while walking through it!

Hands on Learning

We have a small selection of desert animals which we care for. From time to time we bring them out to let guests hold them and learn about them.

Where to go, What to do

As experts in the area, we can give you advice on what you should do after visiting the nature center. From hiking areas to the best place to eat, ask us anything!
